CARB stands for California Air Resources Board. California issues specific regulations in a number of industries from cars to personal care products. The hair care industry is required to comply with ongoing regulatory standards, which often results in necessary product reformulations. To meet their requirements, Thickening Spray and Styling Creme were reformulated in 2006. Since then we have been working tirelessly to deliver the performance true to the original products. These reworked formulas were put to the test at recent fashion weeks and we are happy to report our editorial stylists were thrilled with the performance. These new and improved formulas began shipping to our Network Salons in April 2009.

Bumble and bumble is a cruelty-free brand. We do not test on animals and never ask others to do so on our behalf.
While combining products isn't necessary (each works beautifully on its own), mixing and layering products will give you a virtually unlimited palette of textures and effects. Plus, it's fun. Start with two or three and branch out from there. Visit our Lookbook for recipes, styles, and inspiration.
Hair Powder shouldn't be applied to freshly-washed hair. In order for it to adhere, hair should have some product in it already, or you should use a day or two after you shampoo. Just like other cosmetics with color (foundation, blush, and mascara), some smudging should be expected. Try shaking any loose powder from your hair before you get dressed to avoid smudges and stains.
We are pleased to report that all of our aerosols are compliant with the most stringent environmental requirements in the world (we wouldn't sell them if they weren't).
We only sell our products through the Bb.Network and a select group of retailers. We have no relationship with any mass market chains - and they aren't authorized to sell Bb.Products, and we hate it when they do. The only way to guarantee the efficacy of our products (so you know they're the real deal) is to buy them directly from us, an approved retailer, or a Network Salon.
Yes! We joined the lineup of Estée Lauder Companies in 2006.
We are supporting broader relief efforts through in-kind and monetary donations. For example:
In New York City, a grant was provided to support the establishment of The NYC COVID-19 Response & Impact Fund, administered by the New York Community Trust, which will support NYC-based social services and cultural organizations that have been affected by this public health crisis. [You can find a press release with more information on our Newsroom.]
Globally, a $2 million USD grant was awarded to Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to support their continued life-saving work around the world and response to coronavirus in under-resourced and highly impacted countries. We will continue to do whatever we can to help mitigate this situation in impacted areas around the world and support the global recovery.
We have also partnered with New York State to reopen our Melville, NY Manufacturing facility to produce hand sanitizer for high-need groups and populations, including front-line medical staff.
At The Estée Lauder Companies, the health and well-being of our employees, consumers and partners is always a top priority. We are monitoring the coronavirus/COVID-19 situation daily, engaging with our medical and travel experts and reviewing guidance from health and government authorities to inform how we are taking action. We will also continue to support broader relief efforts through in-kind and monetary donations. We will continue to do whatever we can to help mitigate this situation in impacted areas around the world and support the global recovery.
